Personal
Information:
• Dr. Dean McGee was introduced to natural health care at
a young age, suffering from severe stomach cramps in the 2nd grade.
After extensive medical tests were unable to diagnose his condition,
he received immediate, long-term relief from chiropractic care.
He was impressed by how quickly his pain went away, and his family
continued to use chiropractic care for a variety of conditions,
but he never considered it as a career until years later.
• Growing up in Wellington, Kansas, Dr. McGee was active in
music, drama, and sports, especially tennis. After graduating in
1980 from Wellington High School, he attended four years of Bible
school in Dallas, Texas, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, but began to
realize he didn't fit the mold of a typical minister.
• Looking for another way to make a practical, hands-on difference
in people's lives, and at the encouragement of a kind, "grandfatherly"
doctor, he began to investigate a career in health care. He considered
medicine and optometry as well, but he ultimately chose chiropractic
for its natural, safe, and effective approach.
• Since receiving his doctorate in 1990, Dr. McGee has been
practicing in Wichita, Kansas.
• He and his wife, Sherry, have four children and an assortment
of cats.
